Study description

Screening and treatment for tuberculosis is available free of charge for all healthcare workers in the Free State (South Africa), yet these services remain underutilized. Little is known regarding the factors that influence the decision-making process related to TB screening practices of healthcare workers in this setting.  This study uses a best-worst scaling (BWS) choice experiment to systematically evaluate TB screening preferences among healthcare workers. Latent class analysis was used to explore heterogeneities in preferences.
