Study description

This study aims to evaluate TB infection control measures and strengthen the occupational health service for TB control among HCWs in Kalafong hospital in Pretoria, South Africa. This study includes: baseline and post-intervention implementation of workplace assessments evaluating administrative, engineering and environmental infection control measures in place at Kalafong Hospital; development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive infection control program; and personal and stationary waiting room environmental sampling to determine the concentration of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the air in Kalafong hospital.
