  • DFID UK Funding on AI and Mining

    With funding from the Department for International Development (DFID), United Kingdom, our team is working to harness the power of artificial intelligence to aid in the triage of tuberculosis and silicosis in current and former miners working in South Africa. Read More

  • Rapid research funding awarded on COVID-19

    New funding – Dr. Yassi received funding from CIHR-IDRC under their COVID-19 rapid research funding opportunity. The project, “Protecting healthcare workers from COVID-19: A comparative contextualized analysis”, is a partnership between colleagues in South Africa and those based locally in Vancouver to better understand the factors impacting occupational exposures in COVID in healthcare workers.   • Researching social circus relation to well-being and equity

    The Social Circus and Health Equity project is now entering its second year. Research team members traveled to Ecuador in November 2014 and February 2015 to observe social circus in action and provide arts-based workshops to participants. Team members met with stakeholders at the municipal and national level, and participated in a press conference. Read More
