I was born and raised in Mashhad, Iran, where I completed my medical program. Due to urgent need of remote communities to primary health care in my country, I started working as a family physician in rural health centers in Taybad, Iran and gained experience on dimensions of public health such as preventive medicine, epidemiology, maternal and child health, environmental health and occupational hygiene. Meanwhile, I managed a health center with 38 health care professionals who were providing primary health care to 20,000 people. This experience motivated me to promote my knowledge and skills in public health, resulted in perusing my MSc in Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia.

Now, my passion is to explore the association between environmental pollution and human health. Our collaborative research is focused on food safety and human health in coastal communities living in the areas affected by petroleum and industrial pollution.

I am also a gamer and enjoy landscape photography.
